" Mon terroir, c'est le cœur des Corbières. On est en plein centre du Languedoc. C'est un terroir chaud, sec, qui peut être très dur mais qui peut aussi nous apporter beaucoup. Un peu à l'image du Carignan, qui est le cépage emblématique de cette région.
" My terroir is the heart of the Corbières. We're in the very centre of the Languedoc. The land is warm, and dry which can be hard, but also rewarding. In many ways, it resembles the Carignan grape, which is the emblematic grape variety of this region.
Quand tu te lèves le matin, au milieu des vignes, sur ces terroirs du Sud, proche de la mer, de la montagne ... tu te dis que vivre ici c'est quand même assez exceptionnel ...
When you step out in the morning, in the midst of these southern vineyards, between the mountains and the sea ... you can't help thinking to yourself that living here is really something quite special ...
On est la 7ème génération d'un domaine familial qui a un peu moins de 200 ans et qui est implanté ici, sur la commune de Montbrun. On a 14 hectares. Conduit uniquement en culture ciologique.
We are the 7th generation of the family to run the family vineyard, which is nearly 200 years old, established in Montbrun's village. We have 14 hectares. The land is farmed exclusively using organic methods.
À l'époque, c'était un domaine en polyculture, mes ancêtres vivaient de l'élevage, des céréales, un peu de maraîchage et bien sûr de la vigne ... On a la chance d'avoir une terre paysanne ... vivante.
At the time, the vineyard was polyculture, my ancestors made their living from livestock, cereals, some market gardening, and of course the vines ... We are lucky to have a countryside which is thriving.
Avec Laurence mon épouse et Eglantine ma fille, on cherche à faire des vins qui nous ressemblent. Des vins de partage, sur le fruit, avec beaucoup de gourmandise, de l'amplitude, des choses droites aussi... honnêtes. On espère en tout cas que nos vins transmettent des émotions aux gens.
With my wife Laurence and my daughter Eglantine, I strive to make wines which reflect our values. Wines to share, full of fruit and flavour, full bodied, and honest. We certainly hope that our wines inspire emotion in those who taste them.
